Joan Edwards
Joan Edwards is the Director of Equity and Professional Collaboration for the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools (CAIS). She discovered her passion for equity issues as an active member of affinity groups and equity discussions in college. Joan began her 30 year career as a French teacher. She then learned to hone her leadership skills as a senior administrator with roles in admissions, student life and professional development.
In addition to her position with CAIS, Joan is a consultant for schools and non profit organizations. She is committed to supporting adult and student leaders in helping to heal our world. Over the course of her professional journey, she has gained an appreciation for the importance of mentoring young people on their way to becoming self-aware change agents and for coaching educators to connect with their authentic purpose.
