We invite you to join our 2024 cohort that will convene…

July 14 - 19, 2024

We are TEEa small think tank where everyone teaches and everyone learns.

The People

The Equity Exchange is all about the people. It provides the opportunity to collaborate with a cohort of experienced public and private school educators, guided by facilitants who lead presentations and trainings nationally and internationally.

The Process

TEE is all about the process. It’s about more than a “sit & get” around specific content or a set curriculum –

it's about immersing yourself in a dynamic experience driven by participant priorities and current trends and practices. This year’s focus will be on Equity Emergence(y). We will explore and practice a range of protocols and facilitation skills with topics generated by your cohort. We will meet in plenary sessions for important meta-discussions and in smaller groups for daily coaching and processing. We will talk with public and private school students, parents and caregivers, teachers, and administrators about the emergent and urgent experiences in their spaces. And, we will lay the foundation for an ongoing partnership via quarterly video chats with your cohort and facilitants following your Equity Exchange Institute experience.

Your Plan

The Equity Exchange is all about developing a plan for yourself and your school –

a plan that can evolve and respond to challenges and opportunities as they present themselves throughout your work. You will receive input and counsel on implementing a plan that addresses a current idea, initiative, or dilemma that you introduce to The Equity Exchange – and you will brainstorm with others in your cohort about their ideas and initiatives. You will also receive direction on incorporating vital “self/community care” into your daily routine.

Testimonials

…What I have to say, with all the heartfelt enthusiasm I felt when I was a new teacher in a world that was figuring out what a school world could be if focused on the experience of all people as co-contributors and co-designers, is “The Equity Exchange is a game changer.”

Carla Young
Director of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Access
Cranbrook Schools

…I have learned to appreciate the joy of engaging in equity work alongside others I genuinely enjoy spending time with. I have acquired new tools that I now use within my district and work and have gained a fresh perspective on my professional role as a leader in equity work. I have transitioned from striving to be a hero to being a host, creating connections with others to enhance my capacity for effective work and supporting the capacity building of others.

Ben McClusky

…The Equity Exchange is a wonderful “next step” for educators who want to move beyond the "what" and into the "how" of leading equity work in their schools.
